Review of The City of Your Final Destination (2009) by James-Masaki R — 07 Apr 2011
A civilised movie about confronting the fear of what other people will think of private dramas that are on the surface fantastical but in reality just human. A biographer wants to convince a dead writer's crazy family to let him publish a bio, and is drawn into a tangled web of eccentric people who teach him how to live.
Sometimes we think the worst of others and ourselves when there's nothing to worry about. Stories about people compete with the perils of actual living and it's a fun movie that keeps you interested in which wins out.
