Review of The Cameraman (1928) by Hunter D — 27 Feb 2008
Talk about a revelation. In terms of comedy, even the mighty Marx bros. don't stack up to Keaton's comic prowess. This guy worked harder for laughs than anyone else, and it's a shame that he lived in the shadows of other lesser comedians during the majority of his career.
This is also a movie that anyone who truly loves film should watch, given the Keaton character's daredevil approach to capturing newsreel footage. I laughed myself stupid while watching this, seek it out, and don't let the silent nature of the film scare you away.
