This movie combined both unlikely and likely qualities of good and bad movies. But in the end you have to realize that Boyle was trying to put into action the events of paradise being almost never completely a utopia.
He tried to make this movie seem that perfection is always something we will strive for but almost never achieve. I think this movie was amazing and have seen it plenty of times over. But it really depends on the person in the end.
