Review of The Artist (2011) by Ilsa L — 27 Oct 2012
"The Artist" pays homage to the silent cinema era with truly remarkable results. It uses sound in pretty fabulous ways and music is most likely its best feature. The silent film aspect of the movie is actually a metaphor for the story - the refusal of the main character to move on from his comfort zone and accept change.
Another brilliant aspect of "The Artist" is its performances, specially Jean Dujardin's, which had to convey so much with no words at all.
