A somewhat underrated offering that tells the compelling story of pacifist activist Vera Brittain in the wake of her experience as a field nurse during World War I. Despite a somewhat slow beginning, the film gets progressively better as it moves along.
With a fine performance by Alicia Vikander and great period piece production values, this is a sleeper -- and one of the year's better releases thus far.
