Review of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002) by Martin B — 10 Oct 2008
The film has a sympathy aura all around it. Every character has a story to tell and there is so much depth within each character that it is a shocking and sad vison to see any of them come to harm. The fact that the 2 major characters hate each other because of what they have done and because both characters show a very pacifist manner, it is impossible to favour one over the other because they have such valid points for revenge.
It does include the occasional violence which is pleasantly justified to prevent it from being outrageous. The confrontational finale is a perfect final part of the film and the final scene just nicely ties everything off just the way you want it.
Very strong performances and gripping plot make this a 100% addicting experience that no one should ever miss.
