Review of Symbol (2009) by Trent R — 01 Jun 2010
Fun premise that, even after establishment, maintains a sense of unexpected and nonsensical joy. The running time is thankfully brief, as there is not much more to this after the satirical training montage phase runs its course.
This could have as easily made a very good short, but I'm not aware of Matsumoto expanding this from a television skit. Either way, it's an enjoyably unpretentious goof with him pulling off broad physical comedy and mugging about in full-on manzai fool persona.
