Review of Sweetie (1989) by Tim C — 29 Aug 2007

Almost everything I love in film wrapped up in one sweetly delightful movie: 1) the cinematography (my god) it's so unique and creative. wondrous 2) idiosyncratic characters who speak with a lot of pauses in between sentences.

3) the mood/pace of the film 4) the mise-en-scene (especially this!) is so intricate and beautiful. such a sweet story about family without being cheesy. I like it more and more as I think of its themes and symbols.

I love jane campion :).
