Review of Survivor (2015) by Teresa A — 28 Aug 2015
I liked that they make you pay close attention by NOT giving you extra bits of back story too soon. Just the kind of breadcrumb trail I like in a suspense drama. There was one component of the plot that suffered a somewhat premature giveaway can't say more without spoilers.
The actors didn't really seem to be "stretching their acting muscles", and it could have used a little more character development. For me, the real story was about the way the author points out is that not ALL acts of terror are performed because of religious fanaticism, or by the usual suspects.
That the bad guys will ALWAYS WORK TOGETHER for greed, personal revenge or hatred, no matter what their philosophical differences. That they come in all races, colors, nationalities, and religions. That sometimes the good guys get chased by both sides, while trying to survive long enough to do their jobs.
