Review of Strangler of the Swamp (1946) by Michael T — 19 Oct 2010
Interesting and atmospheric but creeky old story about a wrongly hanged man and his vengence from beyond the grave. Directed by Frank Wisbar, Strangler of the Swamp is his second take on the same story that he directed ten years earlier in Germany under the title Fahrmann Maria/Ferryman Maria.
The voluptuous Rosemary La Plance is strategically costumed in a free-flowing blouse to serve as the main attention grabber, aside from the great mood and effective camera work. Slow but worthwhile semi-classic from PRC.
