Review of Steve Jobs (2015) by David L — 23 Jan 2016
Boyle is talented on his own, so is Sorkin, but the two of them together created this hodgepodge of a mess that's best summarized by the three product launches (discounting NEXT). Since much of the movie is fictionalized, Boyle could have made this a more focused film about Jobs's relationship with those around him but there wasn't enough screentime and as a result we get a tidbit of each with Sculley, Woz, Chris Ann, and Lisa.
But if everything were true in the movie, then JObs is nothing but an egomaniac, stubborn to the core, and should have been fired from any company. As Woz said, "it's not all binary; you can be gifted AND decent".
