Review of Stella Dallas (1925) by Louie D — 10 Apr 2007
Barbara Stanwyck left every other queen of melodrama standing - and this movie proves it. She was born to play this role and outshines everyone else on-screen, managing to make the character of Stella both annoyingly manipulative and endearingly vulnerable at one and the same time.
Absolutely amazing! I well-up each time I watch it.
