Review of Stay (2005) by James C — 05 May 2009
"Stay" is engaging on so many levels that there is absolutely no way you can absorb it all in one sitting...When I first saw this movie it threw me for a loop (not exactly a "twist" ending, but definitely a case where everything converges in a clever, interesting way).
I had to watch it again the next morning. "Stay" is a psychological thriller, as Netflix would call it, a "mind bending movie". As such is thoroughly successful. It's not a critics' favorite, but at this point in my cinematic experience I bestow upon it the revered title of "Favorite Movie".
It made a Ryan Gosling fan out of me and inspired me to check out more of Marc Forster's work.
