Review of Star Trek Beyond (2016) by Shaswat C — 10 Oct 2016
Star Trek Beyond is the love letter to the greatest sci-fi franchise this side of Star Wars. This installment was a really well-written, well-acted and heartfelt movie, overall, with strong character arcs, awesome character interaction (Bones and Spock :D) and the writers had done their homework, it really shows in the film.
There's good use of 'Sabotage' and the whole thing is surprisingly like an episode of the original series, with a very grounded feel on the planet inside the Nebula. There is also a heartfelt sendoff to Ambassador Spock.
Overall, a great movie, shame it barely broke even.
