Review of Standard Operating Procedure (2008) by Corey P — 16 Oct 2008
A good look at the Abu Ghraib scandal. At times the film re-infuriates just how awful the conditions were that allowed this to happen, but ultimately the film goes on a little too long so its impact is unfortunately, unduly dulled by the very end.
Still, Morris brings enough insight and style into his doc to make it a cut above most, and certainly a big cut above most of the mediocre Iraq docs that still end up getting awards and noms.
