Jake Gyllenhaal is tremendous in this movie, for me, he deserves an oscar for this performance. He doesn't only look the part but exudes raw power and anger throughout. Watch this film with an open mind .
..yes its a standard boxing story and yes the cliches are there but his performance drew me in to the story and by the end I was cheering for him to win (very very few movies do that to me). The other actors are good but Jake carries this and raises it above the level of an ordinary movie.
