Review of Son of Saul (2015) by Michelle S — 28 Dec 2016
An utterly heartbreaking and unique movie. This is one of the few movies that I cannot find a single fault in. It was beautifully directed and acted. I'll probably never watch this movie again due to how sad this film was, but I highly recommend everyone to watch this film at least once.
I think what makes Schindler's List such a watchable Holocaust film was that it showed that in the darkest of times there were always good people and it ended happily. This movie was the opposite.
One man just wanted to get a boy a proper burial, and had to endure dangers and mistreatment from both the gestapo and the kapos, and then it didn't have a happy ending. This was a heavy movie, but definitely worth the watch just for the experience.
