Review of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) by Iain K — 28 Dec 2018
We watched this as a family and we all very much enjoyed it. It is a good back-story which is faithful to Han, Lando and Chewie. It is also a decent movie in it's own right. As a 70's child, I've grown up with Star Wars, and for some context, I loved Rogue One, thought TFA was pretty decent and felt completely betrayed by TLJ.
I lost interest in the Star Wars sage after TLJ, but after watching Solo, I'm a born again fan, and this is why I've given it 5 stars. The ending was great too, leaving us with a few questions and options open for future story development.
I avoided seeing this at the cinema because I was so disappointed with TLJ, and I regret doing so now. I believe that TLJ backlash is the only reason his film bombed at the cinemas, because it is really good.
