Review of Sleep Dealer (2008) by Jon B — 09 Sep 2009
A bit amateur and low budge, but I think it gets away with it just by being so different. the vision of the future doesnt ever really have the 2nd or 3rd world in mind, in fact, the only time I can remember , is a small part involving a border crossing in Code 46.
Watching this I wanted to say this is the movie David Cronenberg would be making if he still had the balls, but thats not true at all. if anything it reminds me of Strange Days.
The most interesting thing about this movie is a mix of the future and the past, so realistically, and not so far fetched that it seems like now. the humor in it works best, in that regard.
