Review of Side Street (1950) by Stefanos T — 14 May 2011
Anthony Mann's Side Street is a gem of a little noir, excellent intensity from Farley Granger, and a knockout climactic car chase--back when car chases were rare and mattered--through the streets of downtown Manhattan.
Theme not unsimiliar to Hitchcock--hapless bystander caught and assumed to be a killer--but with a distinct sense of place and grittier feel.
