Review of Shine a Light (2008) by Matthew W — 11 Sep 2009
Obviously, not a narrative film so must be judged purely on the musical aspect. The Stones rule, Scorsese rules, this movie rules. Excellent cinematography, energy, and sound mixing (although Jagger's lyrics to drown a bit during the more rambunctious songs.
) Includes interesting interviews and opening sequence where Scorsese is trying to keep the whole project from falling apart. Highlight involves Jack White accompanying The Stones on 'Lovin Cup.'.
