Review of Shanghai Kiss (2007) by Irshad B — 23 Nov 2007

I rated this 5-star because it stands out as a great interracial love story among other cheesy rom-coms, but it could be better.

Most people who like this movie probably think it's funny and romantic; some may wonder where they fit in in both western culture and their own, but to totally understand and objectively appreciate it, you have to invite at least one Chinese (brought up in US doesn't count, does't have to be Shanghaiese but defly lives in Shanghai over a year and understands the dialect) to watch this together so they can yell at you at the right times: "Aww...this is so not true!" or "What? No, it's not like that!" or "This could be very judgemental and misleading, here, let me explain to you...".
