Review of Shame (2011) by Mike M — 05 Dec 2012
"Shame" is a great film relating to sex addiction, with excellent directing by director/co-screenwriter Steve McQueen and powerful performances from Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan. As Brandon, Fassbender creates a man who is incapable of having a meaningful romantic relationship, yet has to feed on his addiction with compulsive sex.
It is an incredible sin that Fassbender not only was nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars, but didn't win, because there hasn't been a performance like his in years. 5 out of 5 stars; Steve McQueen's second film proves he is on top of his game in terms of film.
