Review of Serpico (1973) by Baurushan J — 24 Jul 2013
The story is based on a true story and stars Al Pacino as real-life New York cop Frank Serpico who lives his life trying to be an honest police policeman but when he is pushed beyond police corruption with life-threatening situations and harassments, he tries to stay away as far away as possible whilst doing his job.
When he gets shot in the face with a small bullet and has his face disabled, Frank resigns from his job after being awarded the medal of honor and moves to Switzerland. The film has an old-fashioned, gritty documentary look while the story is told in a biopic crime drama.
Now I don't know anything about Frank Serpico's history but based on this, I can tell you that this is historically accurate. This is a movie that deserves to be watched and not missed by any stretch.
Serpico gets a 9.7/10.
