Review of Requiem for a Dream (2000) by Dylan R — 24 Sep 2014
The most important and poignant movie you will EVER see that covers the tragedy of the human condition. Marlon Wayans breaks away from comedy and is surprisingly convincing as an addict, Leto's acting chops are really on display and in their peak as Harry a dead beat son/heroin addict, and last but NOT least. Ms. Ellen's performance is oscar worthy material, she can make you laugh, cry, and cringe with her masterful portrayal of a lonely widower/mother who just aspires to have her family together once again.Jennifer Connelly however seems out of place and quite emotionless, which may have been the intent. Breakdown=.
Aranofsky's Greatest Film to Date, Leto's Greatest Performance to Date,Ellen should have won an oscar for her amazing performance, If you have yet to experience this film then you should get busy living.
