Review of Punisher: War Zone (2008) by Corey N — 03 Apr 2010
This was a very good movie version of the Punisher comic series. This time the movie stars actor Ray Stevenson as vigilante Frank Castle aka The Punisher. His look is much like the comic version. He was a nice fit in this role.
This movie also has many elements from the comic as well. We get characters from the Punisher world like Microchip, Soap and the villain Jigsaw. Much like the Thomas Jane Punisher movie this story takes many elements of writer Garth Ennis Punisher run on the series.
This film takes the violence and death scenes of the criminals up a notch. Actor Dominic West was solid as Jigsaw and I liked actor Dash Mihok version of the cop Soap. Overall I enjoyed this movie. A simple solid story and cast makes up this film.
This movie should appeal to any Punisher comic book fan. If your looking for some gruesome death scenes and solid action then check this movie out.
