Review of Pumpkin (2002) by Jose G — 02 Jan 2008
Okay, I'll admit that I'm a sucker for offbeat movies, but this one just took me by surprise. What appealed to me the most was that Caroline (Christina Ricci) is living in her own plastic bubble, where she imagines that everything is good and beautiful, but once she falls in love with Pumpkin, she realizes that this ideal of beauty is nothing more than a preconception brought on by the circumstances of her life (perfect boyfriend, family, and sorority).
The two performances are amazing and the soundtrack is fantastic. I highly recommend this movie.
