Review of Pina (2011) by Damon K — 10 Jul 2011
Superb, beautiful - the perfect documentary. Wenders treats his subject matter with exactly the kind of mystical, dramatic ambiguity she deserves and the strongest elements of the film - her own choreographed dances and the personal semi-improvised dances of her mourning and inspired company - are a joy to behold and live long in the memory.
Sensitive, personal and not completely hampered by the pointless (and slightly insulting for a film of this aesthetic quality) 3D.
