Review of Paradise Lost 2: Revelations (2000) by Matthew S — 05 Aug 2008
While the first film seems to leave the guilt of the West Memphis Three in question, the follow-up has an obvious intent in showing the boys as wrongly accused. The only thing certain in the first was that the boys were not sentenced with their guilt established "beyond a shadow of a doubt." There was much doubt to be had.
Part 2 runs with those doubts into a pretty compelling argument for police incompetence and good old fashioned American witch hunting -- A compelling companion to the first film's portrait of West Memphis as a town of lunatics and hatemongers.
