Review of One Hour Photo (2002) by Colby F — 05 Feb 2011
In 30 years from now, "One Hour Photo" will be considered a classic thriller much like Hitchcock's "Psycho" and even Jonathan Demme's "Silence of the Lambs". The performances, atmosphere, music, neat colors, and the chilling final scenes are what make the movie so undeniably creepy.
..yet you can't help but feel for Sy (Robin Williams) as he simply reaches for a family life he never had (resulting in one of Williams' greatest performances ever). His actions/obsessions/imaginings will give you the willies AND a sense of heartache; he is human and very real.
"One Hour Photo" is more than a cult classic - it takes it's place among the finest thrillers of cinema.
