Review of Once (2007) by Orlok W — 12 May 2014
The story about a poor, street performer and an equally-as-poor florist proves that a film does not have to have a large, Hollywood budget to make a great film. This small-budget film makes a wonderful use of music to not only push along the plot, but also display the personalities of the two main characters.
The soundtrack is fantastic with a dynamic acoustic guitar. For not being actors, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova perform wonderfully together on-screen. An overall fantastically written, directed, and acted film.
