Fantastic fusion of anime, CGI, steampunk and contemporary societal comment. The arc of the story spans extremes from corny to cruel but it somehow all sticks together. Not a movie for young children or the faint-hearted, but thought-provoking and eye-opening for 10+ year old audiences.
Beautiful cinematography, absurd humor and exaggerations, brutal and history-citing ending. What an unexpected treat!
