Within the first 2 minutes of OBVIOUS CHILD, Jenny Slate wins you over completely. Her performance is compelling, idiosyncratic, and hilarious to the point of exhaustion. Were she the only thing this movie had going for it, it would still be great.
But OBVIOUS CHILD has so much more to offer than Slate's starring turn. The writing, the casting, the direction-OBVIOUS CHILD works on every level. Where is this movie's cult following??
