Review of Naked Lunch (1991) by Kyle V — 20 Feb 2010
A brilliant novel and a film to match the hallucinations of William S. Burroughs...saw this when released in theatres many years ago and just had another viewing. Cronenberg at his best as roach exterminator Peter Weller becomes addicted to the bug powder himself.
thus entering the world of Interzone and Mugwumps...the whole "black meat" narcotic derived from giant centipedes is especially disturbing as is the doctor portrayed by Roy Scheider...steller cameos thruout with an amazing Jazz score by Howard Shore and friends.
