Review of My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done (2010) by Cleopatra T — 24 Jul 2011
Strange. Twisted. Darkly beautiful. All can be said of David Lynch's work, as can be said of this macabre gem, although the "Blue Velvet" director's -- and this film's co-executive producer's -- hands-on involvement here is speculative.
While I am not familiar with director Werner Herzog, I cannot help but imagine ink from Lynch's stamp staining Herzog's clothing. At times horrifying, at times riotous, always mesmerizing, "My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done" is a must-see for voyeuristic cinephiles.
