Review of My Name Is Bruce (2007) by Jebus C — 04 Mar 2009
Bruce Campbell is a living legend and if this movie was about anyone else it would maybe rate about 2 stats max. But its not, its all about Bruce and its hillarious. A small american town is over run by the chinese god of bean curd who goes around decapitating the residence. One of the young locals (a huge horror movie fan) decides the only way to defeat the evil is to kidnap his favorite Deadite bashing hero, Bruce Campbell. At first Bruce thinks he's been cast in another shitty B-movie so he just goes along with it. As soon as Bruce figures out its all real he reveals himself to be a complete coward.
Bruce Campbell sends himself and his career up brilliantly and his fans will love all the referances to his previous work. Its more a comedy than a horror film. Fans of Mr Campbell will lap this up, non fans will think its horse shit. I thought it was Groovy! Hail to the King Baby!
