Review of Mutual Appreciation (2005) by Aj T — 10 Jul 2008
Lo-fi brilliance in terms of capturing moments so heart-crushingly awkward that it makes The Office look like soft-core pornography. Looking at other comments, it seems to be suffering from "hipster stigma", where any movie that depicts any human being who even remotely falls into a stereotype is automatically written by a trite automaton who doesnt have anything REAL to say.
Ironically, Bujalski seems to be the hipster movement's strongest critic at times, if not someone who can make it look the silliest.
