Review of Mustang (2015) by Francisco O — 30 Nov 2015
An innocent entry point into the very complex and political world of women's rights and the right of self-ownership. These sisters, portrayed in a completely personal and modern light, each present a different reaction to their oppressive circumstances without losing the lightness that make these performances a joy to watch.
Splendidly directed by Deniz Gamze Ergüven. Beautifully and simply filmed with an innocence that belied the seriousness of the subject. Can't wait to see more films from her soon!
