Review of Mistress America (2015) by Jack G — 22 Aug 2015
Not great, and it starts out kind of rough with Gerwigs character ala Junk in that way where it's SO artificial as to be irritating. but the girl plating Tracy is great throughout and the main centerpiece at the Greenwich house is more ambitious than most things I've seen this summer.
a wonderful B side to While We''re young, also about one New Yorker looking to another as an inspiration, though I might like this more for its hyper aware wit and ultimate warmth past the cynical moments; these two, Baumbach and Gerwig, are a perfect match.
