Review of Miss Austen Regrets (2008) by Annie D — 20 May 2018
Well done! Williams is extraordinary in this role, and the rest of the brilliant cast is just perfect, each one. The script is excellent, reflecting Austen's honest, playful and irreverent wit. The film is more of a character study than a drama, given the "slice of a life" biographical style, so the level of action and conflict is not always lively, but I found the ruminative, contemplative atmosphere appropriate.
Visually gorgeous. I loved it.
