Possibly the true great American movie of our time. On a par with Citizen Cane in its consiousness. A tragic, yet sobering alegory for modern-day capitalism. Julie Christie is right on, full of piss and vineger and Warren Beatty delivers one of the most powerful performances of his careerâ??a precursor to his crowning achievement as John Reed in Reds.
