Review of Mascots (2016) by Chris B — 09 May 2017
Offers all the surprises you?d expect from the fifth part of a trilogy. Those members of the core cast who?ve hung in there (there?s some notable omissions, like Catherine O?Hara) have pretty much mined all they?ve got to offer the genre and of the new additions it?s only Sarah Baker that comes close to inspiring.
Throw in the fact that the setting is not only unfamiliar to most of the audience but uninteresting to them, and even Christopher Guest stepping back in front of the camera for the first time since Waiting for Guffman can?t save this one.
