Great movie about a wealthy wife of high society. When her husband is away on business for months at a time she spent time with a well known bachelor. Once the husband returns and plans to , she goes to break it off with the him and that's were everything goes wrong.
they argue and she tries to leave, when he falls down the stairs and dies. The wicked mother in law finds out and blackmails her to leave and fake her death. The rest of the movie follows the sorrowful years of her life until.
... Great performances, but disappointing ending.
