Review of Lost River (2015) by Luciano G — 10 Apr 2015
6.4/10.
Ryan Gosling's directorial debut wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, based on the reviews it received at Cannes last year. But still the story lacked depth and rhythm, it felt like it was more about the visuals and the cinematography, which looked really cool, but that wasn't enough. Even its great cast that it had, wasn't enough to make it more interesting or intriguing because even though it wasn't as vague as it look, there wasn't much going on and the few there was, wasn't that prominent to understand. Overall, it still shows that Ryan Gosling has some potential at directing but story wise, there needs to be some more work done.
