Review of Lolita (1962) by Michael K — 29 Mar 2008
Hilarious. Superbly acted. Got all the attention, but really is one of his least edgy films. Stanley, you're just too good.
Never read the book. Don't particularly want to. Kubrick managed to round out characters just fine, without help from the mental poly-filler all readers unwittingly ply, helping out poor authors.
But then I choose an auteur over an author any day.
