Review of Little Buddha (1993) by Parikxit R — 27 Oct 2009
Some beautiful sequences, nice shots, but the twined Siddhartha/Young Buddha narratives seemed destined to come off cheesy (think Princess Bride or Neverending Story-- and unlike those classics, Little Buddha didnt self-acknowledge itself from the start). Keanu Reeves got lots of slack for his accent, but for me it was Chris Isaak who was unbearable to watch.
All that said, interesting for being a mainstream intro to the Buddha's story and a colorful look at Tibetan Buddhism.
