Review of Listen to Me Marlon (2015) by Scottt F — 11 May 2015
One of the strongest films seen at least for me from Hot Docs 2015, focusing on some recently released archival tapes from Brando's collection that extend some intimate insights to Brando's life ranging from the Method, his rumoured difficulties on certain projects particularly Apocalypse Now, and his activism as well.
The use of some of the head scans that Brando had made during his run on Superman as a device to help with the narration was very hypnotic. Very engaging and was great to see some more of the humour and sense of fun on the man rather than just focusing on his sometimes trucculant nature.
A must see for Brando fans.
