Review of Legends of the Dark Knight: The History of Batman (2005) by Mr S — 19 Jan 2007
A small straight to the point study on the history of Batman's reign throughout the comics medium. You get almost exactly what you'd expect, the archive footage featuring interviews with Batman creator Bob Kane were great, and famous celebrities sharing their views, opinions and creative references towards the character.
My personal favourite being Frank Miller. This little documentary analyzed Miller's The Dark Knight Returns extraordinairily well, as it should of, not only for the fact that its one of the best comic book titles ever created but the fact that it brought Batman back into the shadows, who he is supposed to be.
An argument I suppose could be that they didn't really touch on the movies that much but the fact that this is a bonus feature on the Batman Anthology set, I really wasn't expecting anything huge but it gave me more than I had anticipated.
