Review of Laid to Rest (2009) by Cade H — 30 Jul 2011
Laid To Rest was an interesting slasher movie with tons of blood and gore. The killer was a unique guy with a silver plated mask who was a surgeon of some sort. He had a nice car, nice weapons and he filmed all of his murders with a shoulder mounted camera.
The whole film the female lead has lost her memory and is trying to figure out who she is. She finds out at the end but it does add a little mystery and suspense to the typical, run from the killer, scenario.
I was really impressed with the gruesome murders which seemed like they could of been from some high budget horror film in theaters. The main disappointment to me was how dumb the characters/victims in the movie were.
At times they could of just driven the car and left town but instead they chose to stop at a house or even go back to the cemetery where it all began. There was a lot of potential in this movie and its sad that certain small things had to hold it back.
