Review of Lady Vengeance (2005) by Phillip P — 11 Jul 2008
This is what foreign cinema is all about!! Cinematically stunning, hauntingly good music and a storyline that isn't afraid to force you to re-think what your individual values are in the face of certain and undeniable tragedy. One hour into this movie I was thinking "That's it? It's only an hour in!! There's gotta be more than this." Suddenly, you find out the story is bigger than it seemed and though it drags a bit near the end, it's just....great. A film you watch over and over just to see how other people react to it.
Oh..and for those keeping score I liked it more than Old Boy.
